Where and when?
The official edition record lists Budapest, Hungary, 16–26 July 2027. Those are the overall event dates. The host FAQ gives 19 July for contestants’ arrival and 26 July for departure. Use the final programme for the two examination dates.
How do you qualify?
There is no direct individual application to the host. Begin with your country’s selection organiser. The first competition may take place during 2026, so waiting until July 2027 can mean missing the route entirely.

The 2027 international eligibility dates
The host states a birth date on or after 1 July 2007 and a full-time primary/secondary education condition on or after 1 December 2026. A specified equivalent applies to home education. Citizenship/residence and national selection rules also matter.

- Identify the organiser and first selection stage for your country.
- Find the current notice, including division, application deadline and school-entry procedure.
- Choose a released paper from that stage and review the skills it requires.
- After qualifying, read the next-round invitation; advancement may require another registration.
Papers and results
The 2027 competition has not yet taken place. We do not label predictions as results or unreleased questions as past papers. Practise with released IMO editions and follow the selection calendar.
