What we cover

Our coverage concerns the International Mathematical Olympiad and the national competitions, selection stages and training routes that lead to it, worldwide. We prioritise consequential deadlines, eligibility or format changes, official results, and useful explanations for students, families and teachers. Participation in a similarly named commercial contest is not treated as a national IMO selection stage without evidence.

Sources and accuracy

Reports link directly to organisers’ notices, rules, calendars or results. We check the year, stage, eligibility and local time basis. An examination date is not automatically an application deadline. If sources conflict or a detail cannot be verified, we say so or hold the report. Older announcements are not presented as having been released today.

News, explainers and publication dates

News reports describe a verified development or timely notice. Explainers provide context and are labelled separately. Publication and material-update times are shown in UTC, while competition deadlines retain the organiser’s local time where specified. We do not change publication dates simply to make an article look new.

Corrections

Send the article URL, the suspected error and, if possible, an official source. Material factual corrections are noted in the article with the correction date. Updating an existing report is preferred to publishing a duplicate.

Independence, rights and commercial interests

We do not collect contest applications or fees. We summarise information in our own words and link to original papers and notices. Images and hosted documents must be original or used under a suitable licence or permission. Sponsorship, paid placements and relevant commercial interests must be labelled where they occur. Rankings, selection places and Google News inclusion are never promised.
