The early registration rate for hosts of the 2026 AMC 10 and AMC 12 ends on 30 September, according to the Mathematical Association of America’s 2026–27 registration schedule. Students should use this approaching date to check that they have an agreed place with a host.

Whose deadline is it?

MAA registration is handled by a competition manager. Students and parents in the United States and Canada arrange participation through a school or another approved host; they do not register directly with MAA. If your school is not taking part, MAA suggests asking a local college, university, maths circle or learning centre. Its AMC programme page links to previous hosts as a starting point, not a guarantee of places this year.

Ask your host to confirm your competition, sitting date, local start time, student fee and its own sign-up deadline. A host may need your decision before MAA’s deadline.

The dates to keep separate

  • 30 September 2026: early registration deadline for AMC 10 and AMC 12 hosts.
  • 15 October: regular registration deadline and final registration date for new competition managers.
  • 28 October: late registration deadline for returning managers only.
  • 5 November: AMC 10 A and AMC 12 A.
  • 13 November: AMC 10 B and AMC 12 B.

The registration page does not specify a cutoff clock time or time zone for these registration dates. Hosts should confirm the portal cutoff with MAA; students should confirm local arrangements with their host.

Check eligibility before choosing a paper

MAA lists AMC 10 for students in grade 10 or below who are under 17.5 on the competition date. AMC 12 is for grade 12 or below and age under 19.5. Students may not take AMC 10 and AMC 12 on the same day. Read the current official rules and policies for the full conditions.

Outside the United States and Canada, check MAA’s international programme and the authorised local organiser. That directory still labels its partner list 2025–26, so confirm the 2026–27 arrangements rather than assuming these host deadlines apply to your country.
