The first problems for France’s TFJM² 2027 are available. The official problem page links a preliminary set and says a new version, with additional problems and corrections, will be published on 12 November 2026. Teams should return for that revision before relying on an early download.

What has been released?

The nine-page preliminary PDF contains five problems and is dated 4 November 2026. Its topic list includes permutations and graphs, probability, combinatorics, arithmetic and algebra, and geometry. This is an initial collection, not a claim that the complete season’s set is final.

The organisers explain that teams are expected to investigate accessible cases, identify difficulties and develop research ideas. They are not expected to produce a complete solution to every problem. Keep notes on your experiments and arguments so your team can discuss what is established and what remains a conjecture.

Who can take part?

The Tournoi Français des Jeunes Mathématiciennes et Mathématiciens is a research tournament for lycée students. Animath’s season announcement of 8 October describes teams of four to six students, accompanied by one or two supervisors. Teams work over several months and present and discuss their findings.

This team tournament has its own regional events and national final. For France’s separate school Olympiad preparation and international selection route, see our France guide.

Registration and next steps

  • 12 November 2026: registration is scheduled to open, alongside the revised problem set.
  • 29 January 2027: the published registration closing date.

These are the dates on the official tournament calendar. No opening hour, closing hour or explicit time zone is stated, so we have not supplied a midnight cutoff or converted the dates to another country’s clock. Use the organiser’s registration link when it opens and check the current rules with your supervisor.

Source-date note, checked 6 November 2026: Animath’s 8 October announcement planned the first release for 5 November. The current tournament calendar and preliminary PDF instead give 4 November. This report confirms that the preliminary file is available; it does not claim an exact upload time. The 12 November revision notice appears on the current problem page. This is an independent editorial report.
