The 2026 Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) has finished. If you took part, ask your school about results and any AMT invitation. If you are starting now, use a released sample paper and ask your teacher to watch for the next annual entry notice.

- AUD $25.90 per student. This is a historical 2026 price, not a quote for 2027.
- Level / format
- One paper for Years 7–10; four hours. It is pitched at Year 10 level.
- Who registers
- School coordinator through AMT. Later AMO events are invitational.
- Time basis
- The public dates do not specify cutoff times. Confirm future entry and submission arrangements with AMT.

How to enter
Ask a school about AMT competitions, particularly the Australian Mathematics Competition and Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO). AIMO performance is explicitly used to identify students for the Olympiad pathway. Later events are invitational. AIMO, AMT pathways
Current structure
From 2026, AMO has Summer, Winter and Finals competitions; training schools and mentoring feed further selection. Team Selection Tests now run at state examination hubs. The AMOC Senior Contest ended after 2025. This is an ongoing programme, not a compulsory sequence in which every student sits every named event. AMT programme update

Past papers and solutions
AMT’s catalogue and shop distinguish papers and solution collections by competition. Some resources are paid. Australian AMC is a different competition from the American AMC; check the organiser and division before buying or downloading a paper.
Previous results
AMO programme and result links covers the domestic programme. For international appearances, medals and contestant records, use Australia in the official IMO archive. A national-round award and an IMO medal describe different achievements.

Ask AMT through the AIMO page about an approved entry arrangement if your school cannot enter you. State your year level and state or territory; do not book an invitational AMO round yourself.
