South Korea’s national programme is run through the Korean Mathematical Olympiad (KMO). The official IMO archive names the delegation Republic of Korea. If you are starting out, look for the appropriate KMO entry notice; a later-round application is for students who already meet its qualification rules.
How KMO leads to team selection
The KMO website of the Korean Mathematical Society publishes first- and second-round examinations, training activities and later selection notices. Progress through KMO and the training programme leads towards final selection. The calendar also includes APMO and final examinations; do not assume that an award in one round guarantees an IMO place.
KJMO is a separate junior competition. Check the competition title carefully when choosing a paper or completing an application.
2026 second round: the published notice
Apply through the 40th KMO second-round application banner on the official homepage. Read the attached examination rules to confirm eligibility and choose a permitted centre. These dates belong to the 2026 second round; they are not a new first-round registration window.
If this will be your first KMO
Open the current first-round announcement and identify the division that applies to you. Ask a teacher to help interpret the Korean examination rules if necessary. Keep the application confirmation and check the later venue and admission-ticket notice. Students transferring between education systems should obtain a ruling from the organiser instead of inferring eligibility from school grade alone.

KMO advertises published collections of its problems and solutions. A comprehensive free official download archive was not verified in this review. Check the division and round before selecting a book or paper; KJMO and KMO are different competitions.
