Taiwan’s mathematics selection office publishes several related examinations and camps. The names matter: an APMO preliminary examination is a local selection event, while APMO itself is the Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad. TMO and the later IMO selection camps have their own entry rules.
Registration goes through the school contact
The office’s registration instructions describe a school-contact process. The contact first supplies the required school information; after approval, the office issues a key for the examination registration file. The completed file is submitted using the office’s instructions and checked for confirmation or corrections.
Ask your mathematics teacher who serves as the school contact. Use the contact details on the current notice: some older instructions on the site still mention the former domain. The selection office now uses tpmso.k12ea.gov.tw.
Examinations, training and final selection
The programme includes APMO preliminary examinations, training activities such as GMC and APMOC, TMO and successive IMO selection camps. The annual selection plans set out who may enter each stage. This is not a single open application covering every event; some students enter later stages through specified qualification routes.
The office published the 2026 IMO team announcement after that season’s selection. Use the plan for the year you intend to enter when checking advancement rules.
2027 programme: provisional dates
A date in the provisional calendar does not mean applications have opened. Your school contact should check the event notice, registration deadline, examination region and any eligibility conditions.
Past papers and solutions
The office groups papers by competition and year. It lists TMO papers for 2021–2026, APMO preliminary stages and separate APMO papers. The 2026 TMO file is labelled with reference solutions. Check each PDF’s cover: solution coverage varies, and local APMO preliminaries are not the international APMO paper.

Use the TMO office contact on the registration page to ask about an approved arrangement if your school has no competition contact. Do not treat a planned exam date as the registration deadline.
