Ask an approved AMC host for a place in AMC 10 or AMC 12 and its student sign-up deadline. MAA’s published registration deadlines are for competition managers; they do not guarantee that a nearby host still has room.

- 30 September 2026: early rate. 15 October: final registration for new managers. 28 October: late registration for returning managers only.
- Competition dates
- AMC 10/12 A: 5 November 2026; B: 13 November 2026.
- Host charges
- US$55 / US$75 / US$115 registration at the three rates, per competition, plus US$30 for ten student licences. These are organiser charges to hosts, not a promised individual student price.
- Time basis
- The registration page gives dates without a cutoff time zone. Confirm the portal cutoff and your host’s local sitting time.

AMC 10/12 → American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) → USAJMO/USAMO → Mathematical Olympiad Program (MOP) and the team-selection cycle → IMO. How to enter
Find a participating school or authorised AMC host and register through its competition manager. AMC 10 requires grade 10 or below and age under 17.5; AMC 12 requires grade 12 or below and age under 19.5 on the exam date. AMC 8 is useful enrichment, not a required qualifying stage. Major 2027 change
MAA announces Pearson-centre computer-based AIME on 5–6 February 2027, no participation below age 13, qualification scores of at least 100 on AMC 10 or 85 on AMC 12 subject to other rules, and USAJMO/USAMO invitations primarily based on AIME rather than the former combined index. Past papers and solutions
The official sample contains the 2022 AMC 10 A paper and its solutions. MAA also sells collections of past competitions. An AMC multiple-choice paper, an AIME short-answer paper and a USAMO proof paper need different practice routines.
Previous results
MAA published student awards covers the domestic programme. For international appearances, medals and contestant records, use United States in the official IMO archive. A national-round award and an IMO medal describe different achievements.

If your school does not take part
Use the MAA AMC information to ask about approved hosts for students whose own school does not participate. Obtain the host’s agreement before registering or paying it.
